Aloha Friday and Looking Forward to a Busy Weekend.

Even though it's supposed to be windy this weekend, I'm already mentally preparing to do Kamiloiki and Makapu'u hills.

As much as I like Mondays, which I really, really, like, I also enjoy Fridays since they signify a wrap on a work week and I’m looking forward to my weekend bicycle rides, relaxing with the family, and whipping up a few fun and fab meals for them. Once again, the winds are gusting upwards of 35mph here in Hawaii, which makes for a challenging ride on two wheels under the power of my own legs. I expect to eat well and sleep well this weekend!

Here at work I am happily in my cube but growing out of my box of writing newsletter articles that target the provider/doctor audience. Now I’m getting a chance at writing advertising materials, text for digital signs, mailers to members, web content and posters. I know the opportunities arise because someone’s out on vacation or the work is getting heavy among my colleagues. I’m happy to get to try different things. I’m always stepping up, but I don’t always get a chance. I’m as surprised as anyone else when my results are well received. Kinda fun but I can’t let it get to my head. The next thing that I impress myself with might go SPLAT, LOL.

Last weekend was Hawaii’s Tinman so athletes of varying degrees are now looking toward participating in the Waikiki Rough Water Swim, the Na Wahine Festival, the Honolulu Century Ride, the Honolulu Marathon, and various events in between, such as those for paddling and surfing. John and I will be out there among Hawaii’s weekend warriors building our strength, working on our strategies and skills, watching and learning.

Traffic in the bicycle lane gets pretty thick with we riders and those on foot. Let’s be careful out there! We all have the same goals: Personal Bests!
