I just completed 7.1 of my #5kin100days workout. However, I forgot and only did 5 of the 7 required 3-minute runs with 1-minute walks between them. So, I’m done now, I’m home, and I’ll just be contrite about it.
The upside is that I did it in my own ‘hood. I did the Costco Hawaii Kai loop. When I got to the bridge between Safeway and Costco, I was only then starting my first run segment. For my fourth one, I ran into Koko Marina Shopping Center. I did a final one beginning at the Mormon church at Lunalilo Home Road and Kalanianaole Highway, passing the Baptist church, and then up into my ‘hood. I did 3.82 miles at a 15.38 pace. It’s interesting to me that the last two run segments seem to be easiest.
No stats. No art. The job is done and I’ve got hungry children banging bowls on the table.
i’m glad you managed to run that route and not get mowed down on one of the koko marina driveways. with the rises to go over the three bridges, it has more in the way of hills than you’re used to. the section from wailua street back to the val nolasco memorial fountain feels longer than it is. so good for you for running a more challenging route, even if you did wrap it up a little too early.
