Gosh. All it takes is a couple of days of working out to get my whole point of view, my mindset, my disposition to go from ugh to wow.

Today’s ride with John was the usual route, but, there wasn’t that howling wind we’ve been dealing with a lot lately. The wind was out of the south, we call it Kona winds in Hawaii, and the gentle breezes kept me motivated. I will ride in the wind, but it sure is hard work. We rode from Hawaii Kai, hit up all the valleys on the way to Diamond Head, stopped there for a picture, and headed back — quickly. We had to get Sophie to the Kahala Mall for a birthday party at the beach fronting the Kahala Hotel, so we flew home. You can see how we did by clicking the link above.
Renewed optimism surfaced when the new Weight Watchers PointsPlus program kicked in. Combined with my 30-day fitness challenge with colleague Kimberly Click, and it seems I just might get to amazing, eventually. So thanks to Kim for inspiring me. I know she’s not yet at this place where I am, but after this weekend, I think she’ll be closer. She’s got a lot on her plate at the moment. Don’t give up, Kim!
When you have your health, it’s easy to be optimistic about everything else in life. When you are excited about being fit, it’s accompanied with a sense of invincibility. You think you can actually be amazing. You believe it’s really within reach. And you hope that attitude spreads into your relationships and your career — and your dreams.
