Back on the bicycles

Such a gorgeous day for surfing at Diamond Head thanks to the Kona breezes.

After last Sunday’s Haleiwa Metric Century, when we logged in our personal best for speed and fitness, and after having gotten Norwalk virus late that Monday, and after a few days of recovery with no workouts at 24-Hour Fitness Hawaii Kai, John and I got on our biycles late this morning. I thought we’d have a slow and easy ride, but we moved at an average speed of 16.9. We credit the Kona winds, and the frantic pace of traffic on Kalanianaole Highway that seems to occur every Saturday morning. I wish we could have left earlier, but we had to take care of a couple of things for Kid1, then I got breakfast, so our launch was late. Waiting for the girls to finish their homework to take them to the beach to cool our jets. Tempted to bring the SUP, but not sure my rotator cuff could handle it.
