A 73-hour ride? Hah!
Not quite. But last week I determined my cadence sensor wasn’t registering, so on 2/16 John adjusted that. So as far as my Edge 500 was concerned, that’s when this ride started. But let’s look at the stats that matter: Average moving speed 17.4 mph, max speed 30.7, moving time 1.19.51; distance 23.17 miles. Heart rate average 144 bpm, highest at 163 bpm. It was a gorgeous morning. Still voggy, and it will be for a few days, but the conditions were very nice, despite being hot. Lucky we live Hawaii.
I was sluggish. I blame hormones. I don’t understand hormones. They do what they want. They cloud my brain, they mess with my depth perception, they distract me. I’m glad I rode with John today. I really hope it helped me cope with the weirdness that being a woman sometimes/always involves. And here’s to the men who love us, despite the roller coaster of life.
I always tell myself that if I didn’t get out there on my bike, in the wild, soaking up the negative ions while dealing with the negative weird vibes that comes with riding along heavy traffic on Kalanianaole Highway, I’d be a fat bitchy blob on the sofa, farming on Facebook. At least this gives me a sense of accomplishment. I feel strong and useful. I want to be a colorful person to those who love me and to those like to read my blogs and updates. By the way, I tweeted earlier today that my tie-dyed arm sleeves look like road rash. What do you think? I fell today and banged my right knee bloody again. That knee’s been getting it since I was 8 years old.
