Locks for Love

My second daughter is blessed with amazing hair. It’s long, curly, a mix of golden browns and blondes, and thick. It also requires daily attention or it knots up at the nape. She is not disposed to preening, and the knots would get quite complex. I would sit her down after her shower, and armed with detangler and a fat-toothed comb, I’d proceed to work out the tangles. After about an hour my arms are weary and she’s weepy.

Enough of that.

After a few days of thought she decided to donate her hair to Locks for Love. Tracey Taylor at J Salon in Hawaii sat her down and measured 10 inches. When she cut off the ponytail, Kid2 proclaimed she wanted her hair shorter. So we think she could have donated 12 inches.

It’s OK. She can do it next year! We are proud of her and she loves how light and fluffy her hair now is.
